April 2019

1st Apr 2019

During April we continued our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic. Nurse Rosemary came in to tell us all about her very busy job. She checked us all out to see if we were fit and healthy. She showed us how to put on bandages on sore arms and legs!

We had a hospital role play area in nursery and the children loved being nurses, doctors and patients. We also had lots of building in nursery in our Construction role play area. The children loved wearing their hard hats and hi-vis jackets in this area. We had blocks for building, tool benches and tool kits. There were lots of things around nursery being mended.

Our ‘Little Glow’ classes with Laura ended. We had such great fun every Friday in this wonderful sensory class.

During April some parents came in to read stories to the nursery children in our Quiet Room. We love to listen to stories and it was so nice to have some Mums and Dads come in and read to the children.

We continued our Lending Library of fine motor skills games and activities. We loved our new books and games. We had lots of fun doing these at home with our Mummy and Daddy.

Mid-April, we started our Yoga Bops Classes on Friday and it was great to see so many parents taking part. Laura, our class leader was very impressed by how well all of the children listened and enjoyed yoga each week.

As part of our getting ready to move to “Big School”, we visited both Primary One classes. We sang our songs to the Primary One children and now we know where the cloakrooms and toilets are.

At our Art Table, we were making many lovely things for Spring and Easter. We dressed up as a bunny and had our photographs taken. We went off to the Post Office to send our photographs to our parents. What a lovely Easter surprise!

At the end of April we started going to the Canteen more often to have our dinner. We used the trays that the Primary One children use and we were able to choose drinks and food from the salad bar.

Outdoors some new toys arrived and we enjoyed the lovely weather as we jumped over our new hurdles. We also were able to practise balancing on the new beams at Rainbow Cottage.

What a busy April!
