April News

28th Apr 2023

During April we continued our ‘People Who Help Us’ topic.

We had a hospital role play area in nursery and the children loved being nurses, doctors and patients.

We also had a McDonald’s role play area set up and the children enjoyed this. We talked about lots of different foods and discussed if they were healthy or not.

We had lots of building in nursery in our Construction role play area. The children loved wearing their hard hats and hi-vis jackets in this area. We had blocks for building, tool benches and tool kits. There were lots of things around nursery being mended.

At our Art Table, we were making many lovely things for Spring and Easter. We dressed up as a bunny and had our photographs taken. We went off to the Post Office to send our photographs to our parents. What a lovely Easter surprise!

After Easter we began our Fundamental Movements classes and we are really enjoying taking part in all of the different exercises.

Some parents came in to read to us in the monrings and we loved listening to all of the stories.

At the end of April we started going to the Canteen more often to have our dinner. We use the dinner trays now as we are thinking about preparation for Primary One in September.

We started visiting the school Library as well.

Outdoors some new toys arrived and we enjoyed the lovely weather as we jumped over our new hurdles. We also were able to practise balancing on the new beams at Rainbow Cottage.

What a busy April!
