During June as part of our getting ready to move to “Big School”, we visited the Primary One classrooms. We sang our songs to the Primary One children and now we know where the cloakrooms and toilets are. Each week we visited the school Library and found lots of books. We know how to use our ‘whisper voice’ when we are in the Library.

We started going to the Canteen more often to have our dinner. We used the trays that the Primary One children use. We know the dinner routine for Primary One.

The weather was beautiful so we used the field beside nursery and we practised all of the races for Sports Day. We had lots of fun as well using all of our outdoor toys. We took them out to the grass area and enjoyed having fun in the sun with all our friends.

We had lots planned for June and the Graduation was the most important one. We talked about all of the things we learned in nursery this year. We sang lots of songs and rhymes for our parents and we performed on the stage in front of lots of people.

Imelda from Debutots came into nursery and we completed a workshop all about getting ready for Primary One. We had lots of fun.

Kidz Farm arrived into nursery and we had such a fun day with all of the different animals.

Towards the end of June Mr King arrived in his Ice-Cream Van. We could hear him coming up the road and we all had a delicious ice cream in the afternoon. Then Buddy the Clown arrived in nursery on the last day for our end of year party. Buddy showed us lots of tricks and he could make lots of things from balloons. We had so much fun.

We have enjoyed a very busy year in Ballykelly Nursery Unit. We know that when we start Primary One in September we will meet lots of new boys and girls and have lots of adventures as we continue on our journey in Ballykelly Primary School.
