May 2024

31st May 2024

With the arrival of May, we began our 'Bears' topic. We learned about bear habitats and read many bear-themed stories during our daily class story time. One of our favorite stories was 'We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.' We had a lot of fun in nursery acting out the story with different characters as they went through the mud, grass, and snow! We even did our own 'Bear Hunt.' We explored the woodland trail and found bears from various countries.

Our caterpillars arrived in the nursery. We watched them grow quickly each day, wriggling around. We also enjoyed reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' We can't wait to have butterflies in our nursery.

We made good use of the field next to our nursery, practising our races for Sports Day. Our favourites were the Potato and Spoon race and the Obstacle race.

We took several walks to our school pond, where we saw many tadpoles. We even managed to catch one and watched it wriggle in the water. Exploring the Woodland Trail, we saw many lovely flowers and plants growing.

We are really enjoying our Fundamental Movement Skills classes with Darren, learning lots of new skills and having fun!

We had our ‘Woodland Trail Day’ with Ciara from The Playtrail, where we went pond dipping, participated in many outdoor activities, and made S’mores.

At our Art Table, we worked hard on creating lovely Spring pictures, as well as caterpillar and butterfly crafts.
