November News!

28th Nov 2019

After our Halloween holidays we were all ready for the new term and we were learning about Harvest and The Farm.

We went on the school bus to visit Limavady Library and really enjoyed taking part in their Rhythm and Rhyme class. It was so exciting to go in the bus.

Each Monday we take home a fine motor skills bag full of resources to build up the muscles in our wrists and fingers. There are lots of lovely games and activities in each bag.

We started going to the Canteen every Friday for our dinner and our Jo Jingles classes started in the Assembly Hall with Stephanie and Jo too! We love taking part in Jo Jingles classes. We learn lots of new songs and we play different musical instruments each week.

As part of our topic Farmer Trevor came in to talk to us about life on his farm. He told us all about his job and the animals he looks after. We had a lovely morning with Farmer Trevor and we even got to try on his farmer's cap!

We have enjoyed driving on the tractors outside and using the wheelies to travel around the road. Down at Rainbow Cottage we have been busy raking the leaves, there are leaves falling everywhere. The school Eco-Team visit nursery every week to help us to tidy up the leaves.

Indoors we had a Greengrocers and we enjoyed role play as the shopkeeper as well as the customer. We weighed the fruit and vegetables. We bought lots in the shop and the greengrocer wrote down our orders. We were learning about money too so we paid for our shopping. Outdoors we had a dairy shop and we had great fun shopping with our trolley and using the tills.

We enjoyed learning all the names of the different types of fruit and vegetables. We even got out the paints and printed with the different produce. Making apple and carrot juice was great fun as we chopped up the apples and carrots. The teacher put these into the juicer and the juice was delicious.

Tony Mullan from a local gardening company came in and helped us to plant our daffodil bulbs. We put our bulbs into the greenhouse and we have to help to look after these each week. We have had another busy time in nursery and learned lots!
