Welcome to Primary 1
Here at Ballykelly Primary School, Primary 1 have made a fantastic start to life in school. We have developed good routines and settled in really well. We have begun to learn the different sounds that help us begin to read. We have been doing this by completing different activities, playing games, using our interactive whiteboard and practising every day.
We began the year with our topic all about Mrs Wishy Washy, keeping everything clean. We talked about the children keeping their hands clean, just like Mrs Wishy Washy kept her animals clean. We are now exploring different House and Homes, for humans like us to live in, and what sort of homes animals live in as well.
In Primary 1, we love to play, we learn skills like sharing and turn taking whilst playing with games, toys, sand, water, playdough amongst other things.
The one thing we all try and do is learn, but if we can learn and have some fun at the same time then we go home with smiles on our faces.
As we get close to Christmas, we will be practising for our Christmas nativity. We can't wait to get dressed up and show you our fantastic show.
