P6 JS Term 1
Primary 6 have been very busy this term – we started our Space Topic with a bang! (see what we did there?) We soon realised that we loved the practical side to our Topic, we enjoyed making a rocket which was launched into the grounds of our school, we completed an experiment to explore how air resistance plays a major factor in astronauts coming back onto earth and we even made our very own space rockets and tested which would go the most in distance.
We have also enjoyed a 4 week after school programme on sign language, together with the help our classroom assistant Mellisa we were able to perform a Christmas song – White Christmas. This was enjoyed so much that our principal Mrs Willis asked us to share this with the parents invited to our school Open Morning. All children did a fantastic job!
We have also enjoyed a 6week programme of cricket with the Cricket coach. It has been so interesting to see the progression we have all made in this sport and I think we may need to use some of the games shared in our PE time as we all enjoyed them so much.
It was great to launch Term 1 AR target this term as we continue to read in any spare time that we get. Collectively we read a total of 2.8million words in our class alone! A fantastic achievement Primary 6.
We have lots to look forward to in the New Year but for now I think we need a well-deserved break-Merry Christmas!
