Term 1

12th Jan 2023

P5/6RM have had a busy and fantastic first term settling back into school.

We have focussed on a range of Numeracy topics including Number, Place Value, the Four Operations and Shape. We have enjoyed learning outside in the Woodland Trail, making different shapes and doing scavenger hunts.

In Literacy, we have been learning about how to write interesting and engaging Narrative stories following a story mountain. Miss Martin was very impressed with our different story ideas and all of the ambitious vocabulary we used.

In our topic work, we studied 'Location, Location, Location' where we learnt all about Northern Ireland and the World Around Us. We got to explore our local area of Ballykelly, finding out more about where we come from. We also researched interesting facts about different countries around the world and presented our findings to our class mates.

This term, we have also been very lucky to go swimming each week and avail of cricket lessons too. We loved developing our skills in these sports and have some great athletes in our class!

Check back soon for an update on Term 2 learning in P5/6RM!
