Term 1
September started great in Primary 7JS, we were introduced to our new topic ‘In your Element’ which involved studying Natural Disasters. Little did we know that this was the actual time of year when natural disasters are more common. We were beginning to think that every time Mrs Semple spoke about an earthquake that she had special powers as on the news the next day there was an earthquake. It made our learning real and relevant and it also meant that we were glued to Newsround every day.
We also got the opportunity to attend the RADAR Centre in Belfast. RADAR stands for Risk Avoidance Danger Awareness Resource. It was great we got the chance to learn about the dangers in the World Around Us. We all particularly enjoyed the jail section where poor Maisy got locked up…luckily they let her out again!
We also seen some of our Primary 7s go through the Transfer Test – they all worked so hard and gave the papers their best shot. We wish them all the best in January when they get their results.
Christmas time is a lovely time in school and this year was no exception. The Primary 1-4 children were very busy putting together a show which we got a chance to see, it was amazing! Also the choir children were extremely busy attending all their events in the lead up to Christmas. A much needed rest at Christmas time was needed.
Well done everyone keep up the good work in Term 2.
