Term 2

16th Apr 2019

Our theme this term has been “The Famous Five” and we have enjoyed finding out about famous people such as Florence Nightingale, Louis Braille and Alexander Graham Bell.  We even had a visit from a present day famous person…HRH Princess Anne!

We have had great fun with our friends in Faughanvale school through our Shared Education Partnership.  We have been taking part in lots of STEM activities and we are looking forward to our Celebration Day in May!

In January and February P4 and P3 performed in Assembly for our friends and families.  We had a great time learning the songs and we really loved our juice and biscuits treat at the end!  We all took part in our Spanish Assembly in April where we showed off the Spanish we have been learning this year with Rebecca our Spanish teacher.

As part of World Book Day this year, we came to school in our PJs and had great fun doing lots of activities all about “The Gruffalo”.  P3 have been busy reading books at home as part of our Paired Reading Programme and P4 have been enjoying the challenge of playing Numeracy games at home as part of our PIN Programme.

We kicked off our new theme “Fairies and Frogs” with a special cinema trip as part of Foyle Film Festival.  We found lots of frog spawn in our school pond and have been learning about the lifecycle of a frog.
