Term 3

7th Jun 2019

The theme for our final term has been “A Ticket to Ride”. We have really enjoyed talking and writing about our holidays. We have used maps to locate our holiday destinations and role-played travel agents and “a trip to the beach” in the playroom. Through this topic we have also explored transport, sorting vehicles from the past and present.

In April we performed in our P2 assembly with Mrs Whyte’s class. We had so much fun learning our songs and practising our lines. We were delighted that so many mummies and daddies came to watch us!

In May the sun came out, so we had lots of outdoor play. We also got our skipping ropes out and started practising for Sports Day. We spent some lovely, sunny afternoons practising our races. We all tried our best and we were very proud to see some of our classmates standing on the podium. The day was topped off with a brilliant fun day that was organised by the PTA. Thank you very much!

After a fun-filled year of learning Spanish, we got to show off our “Español” with a Spanish Celebration Day. We sang lots of Spanish songs and our mummies and daddies were amazed that we knew so many Spanish words.

We finished off a wonderful year in P2 with a great school trip to Alcorn’s Tropical World in Letterkenny. We saw some beautiful butterflies and different animals and had great fun in the play areas.

It has been an absolute pleasure teaching P2 this year. Mrs Powell and I would like to thank parents for all their support and kindness throughout the school year. Enjoy the summer holidays.
