Term 3
P2JW have made Mrs Whyte so proud this year! They have played really well with their friends, worked hard, and had lots of fun. Despite all the changes they had to deal with this year and the different way we had to do some things they were Super Stars!
We were glad to get back to school in March and so excited to get back to playing in the Fishmongers' Trail and the Playroom. We Role Played where we would like to go on holidays, created our own vehicles from Lego and other construction materials, washed vehicles and used playdough to make times on the clock. We did a fantastic job carrying out a traffic survey in the village using Tally Marks and enjoyed all the vehicles tooting their horns at us!
There was lots of excitement when the Easter Bunny came to the Fishmongers' Trail. We walked round the Easter Story, did an Easter Egg Hunt and got an Easter Egg from the Easter Bunny. We also celebrated Epilepsy Awareness Day by wearing something purple. Kody's mum sent us all a yummy purple cupcake!
After Easter we had 5 special visitors to class! They were our caterpillars and they were so small when they arrived. In a couple of weeks they had grown lots and we were fascinated to see them get into their Chrysalis. After another couple of weeks in the net they began to hatch. We brought them outside to the garden area and let them go. We learnt lots about the lifecycle of a butterfly from watching them grow.
On 'Break the Rules Day' we ate unhealthy snacks, had lots of different coloured hairstyles in class as well as some style when we wore our own clothes!
As part of our procedural writing we planted a sunflower seed. We hope they grow taller than us over the summer! We also made our own ham and cheese sandwiches.
We have been doing some planting with Tony outside. We planted hanging baskets with lots of different plants and compost. We have been watching them grow and keeping them watered. We painted a fish on a stone and added it to our school raised bed.
In June we had our Fun Day and we really did have fun! We bounced on Bouncy Castles, ran round the obstacle course and searched the Fishmongers' Trail for our Scavenger Hunt. We brought our Teddy Bears for a Picnic and enjoyed an ice-cream in the afternoon. We were so tired at the end of the day!
We are very sad to be leaving P2 but we are looking forward to the Summer Holidays and then P3!
Mrs Bellingham, Rhonda and Mrs Whyte would like to wish all the children and their families a lovely break over the summer and thank the parents for all their support during this unprecedented year. Have Fun!
