This term the highlights for P5 SMD have been our Shared Education Celebration Day, our school trip to Carrowmena and our Accelerated Reading Fun Day.
This year in Shared Education the focus has been on STEM. We had a Science Show and got to take part in lots of experiments along with the teachers. It was great fun and we can truly say Science is Amazing!! Faughanvale children and parents also came to Ballykelly and we celebrated the event with tea and yummy traybakes.
For our school trip we went to Carrowmena. It was an amazing day. We got to go on zip lines, the climbing wall and for those who dared the Leap of Faith. We also had archery, bouncy castles, orienteering and lots more. Everyone had a super day and Carrowmena commented on our excellent behaviour.
P5 have now completed their first year of Accelerated Reading. Everyone has worked really hard trying to reach their target. This year P5 SMD have read over 2 million words and have taken quizzes on over 1000 books!! This is a super achievement. To celebrate a Fun Day was organised for all of Key Stage 2. We all really enjoyed the day and a huge thank you to Legendary Castles and our PTA for organising the BBQ.
P5 has been a super year. Have a lovely summer.
