Wow! Term 2 has been so busy for P1OMA and we can’t believe how quickly our Easter holidays are approaching.
In January our theme was ‘Celebrations’ and we had great fun making party food such as jelly. Playtime was great as we had lots of opportunities to make food, cards and decorations for our class party.
Our theme for February and March was ‘Animal Crackers’. We looked at where animals live in the world and we know the names of baby animals. Everyone painted an animal of their choice during playtime and it is evident that we have a few budding artists in our class.
In Numeracy we have really enjoyed looking at money. We can all pay for items up to the value of 10p and we can recognise 1p, 2p and 5p coins. We even had the opportunity to use real money in Mrs McAuley’s 'Sweetie Shop’. Everyone has worked so hard in literacy to learn their initial sounds and keywords which is really helpful especially for sentence building activities during task time.
We hope that everyone enjoys their Easter holidays and we look forward to welcoming you back for Term 3.
