SCHOOL PREMISES AND RESOURCES

The present building, built in 1966, replaces a much older building which had become too small.   All the classrooms are well resourced including Interactive Whiteboards, I pads and Apple TV.

In addition the school has a well-stocked library with a section designated to Accelerated Reader, Foundation Stage Playroom, a music room, a Nurture Room and an ICT suite equipped with 19 computers which is accessed by every class and additional laptops are used where needed. Children in all Key Stages also have access to iPads and Beebots. Each classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard allowing children to participate in a variety of online learning experiences.

Pupils have the benefit of a large assembly hall/gymnasium and a separate dining hall. These halls are used extensively for P.E., sports coaching and by our After School Programmes.

The school provides additional learning support required for some children in Literacy and Numeracy, in a well-resourced classroom and we have 2 Speech and Language classes providing specialist support for children in Ballykelly, Limavady, Dungiven and surrounding areas.

A modern kitchen provides hot meals for those pupils who wish to purchase breakfast and lunch at school. Children have a wide selection of dishes from which to choose each day. Meals, cooked or packed, are taken in our spacious dining hall and supervised by a number of supervisory assistants.
Our grounds extend to several acres including playing fields and areas set aside for conservation development. This includes our Fishmongers' Woodland Trail offering bird and squirrel feeding areas, a large wild life pond, tepee village, an outdoor classroom, a bog garden, mini beast paths and a horse chestnut glade.

We have upgraded our learning outdoor provision to include an outdoor area for Foundation Stage pupils, complete with a playhouse, sand box, vehicle track, play trail and a range of outdoor resources. Primary three to seven pupils now enjoy a purpose built play trail and a variety of playground games and equipment.
