Term 1

21st Dec 2018

Welcome to Primary 4!

Term 1 is always a busy term in Primary 4. Children are working hard in Numeracy and Literacy. We have learned how to complete lots of adding and subtracting and some of us have now started learning our multiplication tables. We have all practised our sorting skills using Venn and Carroll diagrams and made and used tally charts to make bar charts and pictograms.

We look forward to our weekly Spanish class and we practise different words and songs every week. As a class we have also researched and discussed topics such as ‘Celebrations’ and ‘Paddington’s Passport’. It was great learning about different cultures and places from all around the world and where we would like to travel in the future.

Every Friday we look forward to Ronan’s visits. Ronan comes from the Northern Irish Football Association to help improve ball skills and spatial awareness. The children have made friends with baby Jack in our ‘Roots of Empathy’ programme. We are watching him grow and develop [and giggle and laugh] through his early life.

Of course our Christmas show provided the children with a great opportunity to show off their creative talents. I hope many of them practise their mixing and cooking skills at home now over the Christmas break.

We all look forward to what next half term brings.
